Liverpool could be without Naby Keita for their top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

The Anfield club's big-money summer signing was stretchered off in the first half of their Champions League fixture in Naples on Wednesday.


It wasn't immediately clear what the cause of Keita's injury was but Jurgen Klopp will be sweating on his fitness ahead of the weekend.

"We don't know exactly, we have to wait," Klopp said when asked about Keita's condition after the 1-0 loss.

City themselves are waiting to find out if Ilkay Gundogan will be available for the trip to Merseyside after the German limped off during the win over Hoffenheim on Tuesday night.

Gundogan clutched his hamstring as he gingerly left the pitch to be replaced by Bernardo Silva, who could start in his place against Liverpool.

The city is already without Kevin De Bruyne for the fixture. The Belgian midfielder returned to training at the CFA earlier this week but won't be back in action until after the competitive break.
